Frey Saga Overview and Giveaway Time!!!

Woo hoo!  I am excited to share this really
amazing giveaway with you!
Author Melissa Wright has offered up a generous array of goodies in celebration
of the release of the final book in the Frey Saga, Rise of the Seven
and Known to Read's blogiversary!

How lucky are we????  I know, right!?!

So first, just in case you've been on a desert island
with no wifi for the last year or so,
here's an overview of the entire series:

Genre:  YA Fantasy
I've got to say, it's difficult to really define whether this is YA or not.  Frey is fae and fae tend to live a really, really long time, so age is not a good determinant.  Frey does live with her aunt, who seems to be her guardian.  But then again, she's in a "authoritative role" (trying not to spoil) and there's some sex, but it all takes place "off camera" as one might say.   In the end, I'd say this is a series EVERYONE will love, especially those who appreciate the young adult voice.

Publisher Type:  Indy
I love my Indy authors!!! One of the greatest pleasures I get from blogging is when you guys leave me comments along the lines of "Haven't heard of this author; I'm going to check their book out."  It makes me smile big time :D

Rating:
*  *  *  *  * (FIVE STARS!!!)
Every book in this series deserves it!  I love every bit of The Frey Saga!

Unaware she's been bound from using magic, Frey leads a small, miserable life in the village where she's sent after the death of her mother. But a tiny spark starts a fury of changes and she finds herself running from everything she's ever known.

Hunted by council for practicing dark magic, she is certain she's been wrongfully accused. She flees, and is forced to rely on strangers for protection. But the farther she strays from home, the more her magic and forgotten memories return and she begins to suspect all is not as it seems.

Pieces of Eight continues Freya's story in her quest to regain her true self.

Frey (book one): When hapless Elfreda searches for answers about a mysterious stranger, she stumbles across a dark past. Her obsession drives her to seemingly harmless ends, sneaking into council to discover his lineage, borrowing a few pages...until she's caught. As she's faced with trial, the injustices and tragedies of her life tumble over her like boulders and she breaks, finding herself running from all she's ever known - with the stranger who began the avalanche.

Pieces of Eight (book two): After revealing her own dark past, Frey is forced to join with a group of strangers whose pasts seem to intertwine with her own. She struggles to regain her memories, her full power, only to find there is more danger on the other side. And now, there is no turning back.

Molly dreamed her whole life of living in a world of magic... until the day she walked into one. This short story falls between The Frey Saga Book Two: Pieces of Eight and the third book, Rise of the Seven.

Memories and magic recovered, Frey is restored to the throne. But as she works to regain control of the North, a small silver dagger nearly brings her end. She raises The Seven of her guard and proves her abilities in order to secure her position. But another attempt on her life, from what appears to be fey, reveals not all are pleased with her return. If she could only figure out the force behind the attacks, she might be able to relax enough to decide what to do about her other problem... Chevelle.
